Making & Unmaking: An exhibition curated by Duro Olowu including painting, sculpture, photography and video that inspire Duro Olowu’s rich and eclectic approach to pattern and textiles, this group show curated by Olowu presents a visual collage steeped in European and West African aesthetics, with colourful compositions alongside representations of costume and the body in portraiture. It will bring historic works by artists such as Meredith Frampton, Claude Cahun, Alice Neel and Anni Albers together with new commissions by Glenn Ligon and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye as well as recent work by Caroline Achaintre, Alexandre da Cunha, Wangechi Mutu and Yinka Shonibare.
