Galerie Nathalie Obadia presents the first exhibition in Brussels by Seydou Keïta (c. 1921–2001), one of the great masters of 20th-century photography. This event was made possible by the support of the Contemporary African Art Collection (CAAC – The Pigozzi Collection, Geneva), which has the mission of spreading awareness of contemporary African art. This organisation is directed by collector Jean Pigozzi and the exhibition organiser André Magnin, the assistant to curator Jean-Hubert Martin in 1989 of the “Magicians of the Earth” exhibition at the Centre Pompidou, which revolutionised the world of contemporary art by opening it up for the first time to non-Western artists.
