Gugulective
Started in 2006, the Gugulective is a network of artists, musicians, writers, DJs, rappers and poets active in Cape Town's eastern townships. Since participating on X-Cape earlier this year, they hosted another one-day exhibition, in June. Titled Akuchanywa, which translates as "no pissing", the event was held in a shebeen at Kwa-Mlami in Gugulethu. Participants included Ziphozenkosi Dayile, Lonwabo Kilani, Khanyi Mbongwa, Dathini Mzaziya, Unathi Sigenu, Nosipho Singiswa, Themba Tsotsi, Kemang Wa le Hulere and Loyiso Qanya (who debuted as a curator at the SA National Gallery with Imbacu)
